TV Removal and Disposal

Posted on 2020-04-242021-04-06 By WebEditor

It’s been sitting in that dark corner of the basement for years. Sometimes you’ll make a joke about it, but mostly you just ignore it: The old television.

These very heavy, bulky, beasts of the past are extra difficult to get rid of, and not only because of their heft and size. These units contain chemicals that are known to be hazardous to the environment (and your health.) Because of this, you are not able to just toss the CRT TVs out to the side of the road on collection day, they need special attention when it comes to getting the old thing out of your basement.

Getting Rid of An Old TV

While it may seem like a laborious task to find someone willing to come over and get that heavy old TV out of your house, the truth is a lot more simple. Some stores will accept your old TV as part of a recycling program, as well some communities hold e-cycling events where you may be able to ditch the CRT TV.

However, if you do not want to lug the TV out of the basement, or are unable to, there are good options available to you, as well. Dad and Sons Hauling is able to come to your home and make sure that the old TV is properly and responsibly disposed of, saving you the hassle. And, while they are there, they can also take away any other waste or junk that you may need to be removed.

The Right Way To Dispose of A TV

Once the old TV makes it to the proper recycling facility, it is disposed of by first being stripped down and broken up into its individual parts. Even these old TVs have elements within them that can be reused elsewhere. The cathode-ray tubes in these old TVs are then properly removed and broken down so that they do not do damage.
